Handmade Geometric Quilted Cushion - Sophie Cushion

Collection 1 was inspired by the mid-century aesthetic of a mix of organic and geometric shapes and a simple palette. Mid-century design was all about the mixing of the old and new, and that is what we tried to do with a traditional craft such as quilting but using the more contemporary curved piecing. 
 
This cushion was specifically designed inspired by the work of the mid-century artist Sophie Teauber-Arp. Looking at her art, which is often a mix of contradictions, is joyful. Although her most famous work was pre-mid-century, it’s her use of shapes that really inspired this design.

Machine pieced and quilted, then hand bound.
Handmade in the UK.
Each cushion is made to order just for you. Please allow 3 - 4 weeks for production.
